Wearily

Talcum settling on sleeves
like a tail light shitting vision on the lawn
some creatures are perturbed, they shift
from the knitting like a finger jumping
nervous from a gopher hole

It’s a scared one, restless in the litter
dimly pelted and contagious
ly nosing it out

past caring on the cloth
of what had scattered
