yesterday i was walking in the snow
then i found myself laid out on the sidewalk
an older man asked if i was okay
i told him, "yes, it's just a little slippery i guess."
"yes it is," he told me.
i returned to school with a large wet patch and a hole in my tights
scotch tape could not mend the tights
so i stapled them back together
on the train home
i noticed the blond teenage girl sitting near me
staring at my stapled knee
i pulled my dress over the knee
trying to hide my embarrassment
and yet she kept staring
